Harbor 25

Maybe you started your sailing career in a Laser or a Lightning. Then you campaigned a J-24. Then you moved up to that 40 footer with a football team size crew and a sail inventory half the value of the national debt. You still want to sail but you want to make it simpler. You want a sail plan that is easy to handle (no gambling about on the foredeck, no gorillas to grind in a jib sheet), a good size cockpit so you can take the grand kids out (without losing one over the side), yet still have a boat that sails very well and is competitive in the local handicap series.

Meanwhile, the cockpit holds the family crew, including the daughter and the new grandson (future Olympic gold medalist) with room and safety to spare.

The helm is marvelously balanced so your daughter and grandson can get some tiller time too (never too soon to get that little person driving!)

When your finished for the day, the roller furling and main with lazy jacks are down neatly in a jiffy with a hand to spare!

Of course the two cylinder Yanmar Diesel with low drag Martec folding prop is unobtrusive when sailing but will get you home in a tide crunching hurry when the food or diapers run out.

The bottom line is the Harbor 25, because of its safe simplicity, will have you out sailing more and having more fun sailing than you have had in quite a while. They always told you that more time on the water was what it was all about.

The only thing you might have to add is your own mountain.
